Are all staff DBS checked?

Yes, all practitioners hold Enhanced DBS checks.

What happens in class?

Depending on the age range, each class format differs to reflect your child’s current stage of development. Classes include the use of props, music, movement, dance, singing and play.

Which class is right for my child?

Every child’s journey is different; therefore our classes overlap ages and developmental milestones. If you are unsure which class is suitable for your little one, just get in touch.

Do I need to attend with my child?

Adults are required to be actively involved in the Creative Baby classes, birth – 3 years. In the Creative Minis classes the children participate without an adult, but it may be necessary for an adult to sit in during the first class if a child is new. DCD Junior classes are for children only.

Is Dorset Creative Dance Ltd part of a membership body ?

Yes, Dorset Creative Dance is a Professional Organisation Member of People Dancing – the Foundation for Community Dance.

What should we bring?

Please bring a bottle of water as we may have a short drink break in the Creative Baby 1 – 3 years, Creative Minis and DCD Juniors classes.

What should we wear?

Creative Baby 1 – 3 years, Creative Minis and DCD Juniors should wear clothing that is comfortable to move in, ideally leggings and a top. Please remove any jewellery and tie hair back. We dance in bare feet.

How long are classes?

Creative Baby and Minis classes are 45 minutes long; DCD Juniors classes are 1 hour long. Please arrive no more than 5 minutes before the start of class. Please make sure little ones have been to the toilet before class and washed their hands.

Can I take photos during class?

We kindly ask that you do not take pictures in class as the photos may contain images of other children, parents, guardians or members of staff who have not consented to having their pictures taken.

What happens if I arrive late?

Unfortunately we cannot allow late attendees of more than 5 minutes into the Creative Minis and DCD Juniors classes as an essential warm up is carried out at the start of class.
